RES.ò1

RESÒ <http://www.reso-network.net/>  is the new international residency exchange network for art residencies and educational programs and is based in Italy’s Piedmont region. It is conceived as a 3-year project involving three institutions in Italy and three others based respectively in Turkey, Egypt and Brazil.

RESÒ’s goal is to foster new relationships, cultural exchange and creative production, as well as linking artists with the leading contemporary arts institutions in Piedmont, Istanbul, Cairo and Rio de Janeiro/São Paulo.

RESÒ is dedicated to supporting its resident artists in the creation of new works of art through 6-9 week long research-residencies. All of the artists’ expenses are covered, including airfare. They will be introduced to the local art scene through a program of meetings, studio visits and talks. The selected artists are expected to hold public presentations of their work, and the residency research project towards the end of their residency.

We are pleased to hereby announce the call for applications for our first RES.ò1 residency at Cittadellarte <http://www.cittadellarte.it/> . This is the first call; a second call will be issued in October/November 2010 for residencies with the remaining partner institutions.

Selected residents are chosen by committees in each host institution. The application guidelines are outlined below (document attached)

The RES.ò1 residency at Cittadelarte will begin on the 1st of September 2010 and will last for the duration of 6-9 weeks.
You are eligible to apply if you are based in Egypt, Turkey or Brazil, regardless of nationality.

International Residence Scholarships at the Kunstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral

I. International Residence Scholarships at the Kunstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral
Six residence scholarships will be awarded to international visual artists.

Each scholarship lasts 6 months. All of them begin in April 2011 and are endowed with 1,200 euros per month and include free accommodation at the Kunstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral.

Eligible to apply for the International Residence Scholarships at the Kunstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral are international artists of any age from the disciplines painting, sculpture, installation, drawing, printmaking, design, photography, video, new media and landscape art.

II. Project Scholarship
The project scholarship, which is not tied to any site, will be awarded to a visual artist. The project scholarship lasts for 6 months and begins in April 2011. It is endowed with 1,200 € per month.??Eligible are international applicants with permanent residence in the Federal Republic of Germany. The artistic project should be realized within the scholarship period of 6 months so that it can be shown at the annual exhibition of the scholarship holders in Bad Ems, Germany.

III. International Curator Scholarship at the Kunstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral
To foster dialog between research and art, Balmoral awards a residence scholarship to a young scholar in the humanities (preferably art history) for a curatorial project to be developed by the scholarship holder and the Kunstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral.

The scholarship lasts 6 months and begins in April 2011. It is endowed with 1,200 € per month and includes free accommodation at the Kunstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral.
Preconditions

The preconditions for all scholarships with the exception of the curator scholarship are a completed course of study in art (M.F.A.) and one to three years (depending on the respective scholarship) of continuous artistic work after the conclusion of the studies.
Applications are also possible for autodidacts distinguished by special artistic achievements, as documented by exhibitions and prizes.

The curator scholarship is awarded to persons who are no older than 35 or whose university degree (at least M.A., preferably Ph.D.) was completed no more than 5 years ago.

To foster artistic dialog and interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge of German, English or French is expected. For the Curator Scholarship, the mastery of the German language and good knowledge of English of French is essential.

Awarding of Scholarships

A jury of specialists will award all of the scholarships, taking into consideration the developmental potential of the applicant’s artistic or theoretical work. The names of the jurors will be published after the selection.

Artists, designers and theoreticians are invited to submit research and production proposals to become a researcher at the Jan van Eyck Academie. The application deadline is 15 April 2009.

The Jan van Eyck Academie is an institute for research and production in the fields of fine art, design and theory. Every year, 48 international researchers realise their individual or collective projects in the artistic and critical environment that is the Jan van Eyck. In doing so, they are advised by a team of artists, designers and theoreticians who have won their spurs globally.

Multi-Disciplinary Research
Artists, designers and theoreticians at the Jan van Eyck Academie work alongside each other and establish cross-disciplinary exchange. The academy is not led by predetermined leitmotivs. The research projects, miscellaneous in nature, make the Jan van Eyck a multi-disciplinary institute.

Programme
Researchers, departments and the institute organise various weekly activities, to which special speakers are invited: lectures, seminars, workshops, screenings, exhibitions, discussions, … The Jan van Eyck community and external interested parties are welcome to attend this programme. The result is a dynamic and critical exchange between the different agents from within and outside of the Jan van Eyck.

Facilities
Researchers can avail themselves of facilities that support their projects from first concept to public presentation, including the library, the documentation centre and various workshops. They can also get assistance with their print work, the editing and distribution of publications and the publicity of events. All researchers receive their own studio and a stipend.

Applications
Candidates applying for Fine Art, Design or Theory are asked to propose an individual research project. They can also indicate their interest in participating in one of the projects that are offered by the department of their choice or one of the other departments (please see http://www.janvaneyck.nl). Research candidates can apply for a one-year or two-year research period starting annually on 1 January. It is also possible to apply to do research for a different period and with a different starting date.

Since 1999, camac art centre with Fondation Ténot aims to promote creativity and international exchange in the artist community.

Camac and Fondation Ténot offer each year a residency bursary to one visual artist, one writer and one musician or composer in order to create new career prospects for artists.

Camac is located 60min away from Paris in the village of Marnay sur Seine within the scenic Region of Champagne-Ardenne. This multi-disciplinary creative centre offers a unique environment for visual artist, writers or musicians. Camac aims at fostering communication and creativity among individuals and groups working on the evolution of ideas or realization of works.

Nature of the bursary :
2 month residency (dates to be arranged by mutual agreement between the
artist and the institution)
Return ticket, board and lodging
Private bedroom with bathroom, individual studio.
The laureate must provide his/her own visas and health insurance .

Visual arts :
Eligibility :
Professional artists of established ability. The candidate must be motivated
and open to discussion on contemporary art practice and the challenge of

The “H+F Curatorial Grant” is an ambitious and original initiative which allows the FRAC Nord–Pas de Calais (Dunkirk/France) in close partnership with the private collector Han Nefkens (H+F Collection) and the de Appel arts centre (Amsterdam/NL), to give young international curators the opportunity to participate in the development of exhibition projects based on the collection of FRAC Nord-Pas-de- Calais.

This grant, which was launched in 2007, offers emerging art curators a unique infrastructure and environment with free access to a research and documentation centre as well as to one of the best French collections of contemporary art. The FRAC acts as the first intermediary for these future professionals of contemporary art by helping them to develop and implement their projects.

A panel composed of Han Nefkens (H+F Collection), Ann Demeester (Director of de Appel) and Hilde Teerlinck (Director of the FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais) will select the new candidate. The selected person will become part of the FRAC’s team as an assistant curator, coordinating local, national and international exhibition-projects. She / he will receive in exchange a grant for 12 months (May 2010 – May 2011) that will help finance her/his living and travel expenses.

An excellent knowledge of English is required, knowledge of French would be helpful.

The candidate will have to install her/himself in Dunkirk for the mentioned period.

This project has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Han Nefkens (journalist, writer and art collector), which enables the FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais to reinforce the development of a strong and active policy of patronage around its activities. From 2008 onwards the application process is open for former students of de Appel Curatorial Programme and all aspiring young curators who wish to enhance their expertise and further develop their skills and agilities in project management.

Gyeonggi Creation Center supports creative work and research for domestic and foreign artists, curators and theorists through an art residency alongside a wide range of programs and facilities. GCC acts as a platform to gather artists, curators and theorists from all over the world for international exchange and as an experimental and progressive contemporary art center to collectively engage and cultivate synergy among artists of various genres.

For the 2010 Residency Studio Program, GCC will accept applications from artists, curators, and theorists working in visual and media arts. Artists, curators, and theorists may apply in December 2009.

O MUSAC – Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León convoca artistas para participarem do programa de imersão artística Proforma. É aberto a cadidatos de áreas diversas, de todas as idades e nacionalidades.

BASES DE LA CONVOCATORIA

PROFORMA es un proyecto desarrollado por los artistas Txomin Badiola (Bilbao, 1957), Jon Mikel Euba (Bilbao, 1967) y Sergio Prego (San Sebastián, 1969) para el MUSAC, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León, consistente en una cuarentena, una reclusión de 3 artistas del 8 de febrero al 20 de marzo en sus exposiciones junto a un grupo de 15 voluntarios, con un programa de 30 ejercicios para ser completados en 40 días. Esta experiencia de trabajo artístico, dentro de un dispositivo de exposición, tendrá como objetivo la transformación, tanto de las personas implicadas como de las propias exposiciones.

Estão abertas as inscrições para o Prêmio Interações Florestais 2010 – Residência Artística Terra UNA . Nesta edição além dos espaços da Ecovila os artistas irão interagir com o Ponto de Cultura e Sustentabilidade em Liberdade MG.

Os artistas interessados em interagir com a floresta, com o ambiente rural, com a vivência de uma Ecovila, com a população local de Liberdade e com o desenvolvimento do trabalho de outros artistas estão convidados a se inscreverem em nossa convocatória para a residência de 2010.

15 artistas passarão por Terra UNA com suas idéias e suas potências criativas recebendo uma bolsa de 1500 Reais e um mês de estadia na Ecovila. 10 artistas serão selecionados em um processo autogestionário onde os próprios inscritos escolhem os premiados. Três artistas são convidados para acompanhar o processo de maneira critica, e dois artistas serão escolhidos por Terra UNA para representar a Ecovila e a rede de Pontos de Cultura.

O Prêmio Interações Florestais 2010 é o segundo prêmio de residência artística da Ecovila Terra UNA. Estamos felizes de poder contar mais uma vez com o patrocínio da FUNARTE/MINC para a realização deste trabalho que desloca a produção contemporânea em artes visuais para outros espaços do país. Fomentada em 2008 pelo Prêmio Conexão Artes Visuais FUNARTE/MINC/Petrobrás, a primeira edição do prêmio contou com mais de 150 artistas inscritos e levou 12 deles para realizarem seus trabalhos em Terra UNA. Com a consolidação do Ponto de Cultura e Sustentabilidade, gerido por Terra UNA em Liberdade, o projeto ganhou mais fôlego sendo um dos ganhadores do Prêmio Interações Estéticas 2010.
